Past, Present, and Future Technology: Interview Ideas: Shengjie.wu

In the reading “Soonish: Ten Emerging Technologies That’ll Improve and/or Ruin Everything”, I read the chapter 11 ‘Brain-Computer Interfaces’. I read the topic and Brain Reading of chapter 11. From my perspective, the relationship between technology described in ‘Soonish’ and notions of oral history from StoryCorps project is that both of them are related to humanity, and they both use technology to affect future. People share their stories; express their voice from the bottom in StoryCrops. After interview, StoryCrops find that there are a lot of good humanities can be collected. StroyCrops also mentions that there is an app going to be released in smart phone to be used as the method to record the interview. Under such condition, participant of StoryCrops do not need to go to the station for interview, but can recording the interview by using app in the phone. In the chapter 11 of “Soonish: Ten Emerging Technologies That’ll Improve and/or Ruin Everything”, the author is talking about the difference and relation between human brain and robot ‘brain’. The writer believes that human brain is similar to a computer; both of them are physical machine. Thus, author wonder that can brain be ‘program’ as the way we program computer.

Computers do play an important role in community currently. A lot of positions and jobs are replaced by computers and robots. In China, most of the toll stations are operating by robots. I am the guy who like design, and also want to become a graphic designer in the future. I read some articles and News about technology and design when I was in China, and I found that robots and computers were entering in design field. Most of the poster shown on website such as Taobao and Amazon are made by computers. Besides, the article stated that computers can make hundreds of posters in a second. Compare with the efficiency of making poster by human, the efficiency of computers is way faster than the efficiency of computers. Therefore, I am wondering the relation between technology and design. I want to interview my professors who are expert in design or technology field to show their points about this situation between technology and design. I will focus on using Adobe Audition to edit the interview.
