This quilt, Blocks And Strips Work-Clothes Quilt by Andrea Willams, is mainly made up of strips. Different sized rectangles make up the structure of this quilt. Four small rectangles make the top strip, one large rectangle fills the center of the quilt, and many small rectangles make the rest of the quilt. These many smaller rectangles make a larger rectangle. The quilt is made from many shades of blue which are arranged by the darkness of the blue. The materials are from denim work clothes, but it’s hard to tell by the design. I think her inspiration was from watching labor workers in the yards and factories in Philadelphia. I think this quilt shows the diversity in the labor force. Each shade of denim visually represents something different.
