This is the picture I took when I went to check out the NW Alternative Comic Mural. I though it was very interesting how they used a transparent image over the mural they were painting and traced over it. When I went back to check out the mural again I found the image to be much darker and more noticeable then the transparent project they had originally. I find the original pic I took to me much more visually interesting though. I think the act of them drawing the mural, with the image half complete, and half transparent almost adds to it. Rather than just being a finished work of art, it looked to me like a visually interesting work in progress. The transparent part also added to the shading, creating a much more muted effect over the dark outlines.
