Rhythm and Balance

I took this picture this summer at home (Lisbon, Portugal). This is one the most important historical places in Portugal and i think it represent the idea of rhythm and balance.

Rhythm because of the lines on the floor that alters from black to white. The arches in the palace also create a rhythm in the picture because of their repetitive appearance.

The balance is formed by the contrast of two mainimg_3152 things:

1) The black and white lines on the ground.

2) The sky and the ground separated by the palace that looks like a line from the distance that the picture was taken.

I also notices the fountain with a circular shape right in the middle of the picture that creates balance by it position and shape.
