What it is!

When Barry talks about images, he personifies the state of images. To Barry the images have their own essence. The images become alive from the interpretation and meaning they are given as memories or creative works. He exclaims, “It’s alive in the way our memory is alive.” In a sense images are the embodiment of our inner child that has grown and gone through many different experiences that add up to our collective self. The images in page 14 are simple drawings that even a 7-year could draw but in Barry’s context they truly embody the message in the book.

The pages in the book are made up paper used in everyday life, not a special paper for drawing. Once again showing the simplicity throughout the book. It appears the images might have been made by hand and later scanned or they could have been made entirely in illustrator. Like on page 14 the drawings appeared to be drawn from a child’s imagination.
