I believe this is my greatest design because because it really grabs my audience’s attention with the phrase, “experimental action.” This expression is used as the hook for my design, and it is also noticeable from a distance because of its big scale. It is the biggest set of words in the design. The asymmetry used in this piece really pops the words across the image. This is because the words are not perfectly aliened with one another. This however, allowed those key words to have there own identity and stand-alone although they are working together. In addition, negative space is utilized to bring out the words, “experimental action.” Similarly, the size of those words are what is used to align everything else. Since the words are so big it almost allows them to act as a border for the rest of the words. The “E” for example nothing goes past the height of the “E.” This allows the words scaled at a smaller rate to act as a background for that phrase. This allows rhythm to take place because a pattern forms in between the lines of, “experimental action.” The pattern being, small scale, big scale, small scale, big scale. To redefine my work, I plan on aligning everything more then what it is. I also want experiment with separating the bios and scaling. For example cutting them in the middle or taking words out and placing them in an area where there is a lot of negative space.
