You may attend one or more of the events listed below to make up for missed participation and activity points for the class.* If you attend, write 2-3 paragraphs that 1) summarize the content of the event and 2) reflect on how that content relates to material in our class. Print your response with DTC336 and your first and last name at the top and hand it in within one week of the event taking place. Please do not email me your write-up.
Monday, December 4th: Digital Foundations Workshop: “Operation Systems Basics,” 3:00-4:00pm, CDSC, 4th floor Holland Library
If you cannot attend any of the events: Watch the typography documentary Helvetica (no longer available free on YouTube, but you can rent on various online streaming sources) by Gary Huswit. Make sure your write-up demonstrates that you watched the entire documentary and turn in your write-up no later than 10/31 when Project 2 is due. (Talk to your instructor if you have already seen this documentary.)
* Depending on detail level and thoughtfulness of your response, as well as writing quality, your write-up may earn from 10 to 25 points. Extra points cannot exceed the number of points you are missing for the course (i.e., you cannot earn 102% when final grades are posted).
